Neda: The wrong picture and the right one #neda
Like many others, we searched online for information about Neda Agha Soltan right after the video of her death was posted Saturday night. We found two profiles with the name Neda Soltani from Tehran on social networks, including Facebook. But nothing proves they belong to the victim. Both @natachaqs and @tfsalomon sent Facebook friend requests to check and see if she was the Neda we are looking for; they were surprised to see the friend request granted so quickly.
As quickly as Sunday this woman also called Neda replied to Natacha and Tatiana on Facebook just to let them know that her name is the same as the Neda we all saw dying in Tehran. She told them she was honored to share the same name but confirmed that she is not the same person. She has since deleted her profile picture but still doesn’t know what to do about all the pictures out there now.
@natachaqs has twitted about this before. However, the picture of this woman, who is alive, is still being used around the world. We hope this mistake will be corrected soon.
Another picture of Neda sent by an Iranrian blogger.
Here is the portrait of Neda Agha Soltan, who was buried today (confirmed by the BBC Persian website).
Thanks to @tfsalomon & @Bohemond.

I cry just for Neda and for his father who was withnessed this tragedy.
I pray for strengt and Gods mercy for the family of Neda. Her name will stay for ever as a symbole for freedom. God bless her soul.
It is realy sick that Iranian government kills those people who are crying for freedom. I think that finaly we have also to take the weapons and kill the peoples whe are killing the democraties and freedom. I want to say to the people who has the weapons at home, please come on the street and shoot them who are killing us. Please dont wait because enough on the streets has been shed blood of the young peoples who want freedom from this religious dictators in Iran.
I will stay suport you untill my last blood in my body. I pray for you guys. Be stron brave hearts of the millenium. God bless you my friends on the from line.

According to a statement I read from her fiance, she wasn’t even protesting. She had gotten out of the car she was riding in because it was stuck in traffic and she was hot. She was a few blocks from the protests. Shot through the heart… unbelievable. It breaks my own heart.

The dictator’s sniper silenced her, but her neda (divine call) for freedom echoed throughout the world - And her name was Neda.
